Bookbinding Courses
Would you like to learn bookbinding or improve your skills? The Otter Bindery offers Saturday courses to help you master the craft. These are for all abilities, from beginners upwards. All materials and tools are provided.
All our workshops offer high quality tuition in a relaxed and friendly setting.

During the past year projects completed have included a Victorian style photo album, a painted glued scrap book style album, a Japanese style binding using shoji paper, Korean hand made paper covers with secondary twisted rope sewing and silk decorative outer sewing, a painted case binding in a box, a coptic binding, gold tooling, cross structure bindings and wooden veneer bindings, as well as traditional leather bookbinding. Many projects can completed in a single class so that you will both learn new skills and have a book to take home with you at the end of the day; more demanding projects may require several classes to finish.
