Learn how to make a beautiful book the traditional way! We will be making traditional exposed, cloth-jointed endpapers using hand prepared paste and marbled paper. The paper will be folded and sewn on linen tapes before being trimmed using a plough. The book will be quarter bound in leather. This means it will have a leather spine and cloth or marbled paper sides. This will give participants the opportunity to learn about paring leather with a paring knife and a spokeshave. NB In order to finish their book, students will need to attend about four of these classes. The class runs frequently to enable you to make a finished book in a reasonable time. £50 per class.
